This two-part eLearning course examines errors and potential liability that can result from the use of Electronic Health Records and other medical information systems. Using numerous examples, this program identifies specific risks to patient safety that arise in the use of EHRs; demonstrates specific hazards of common features; illustrates ways information systems can increase liability exposure and complicate medical malpractice defense; and reviews strategies to reduce errors, adverse events and liability related to computer use in healthcare.
